Small Business Disruption Loans

Invest Atlanta offers support to small businesses to help withstand the effects of major economic shocks and unforeseen disasters.

The Atlanta Rapid Response Loan Fund (ARRLF) and the Neighborhood Impact Recovery Fund provide a public benefit to small and local businesses engaged in trade, industry, and commerce to address major business disruptions/opportunities, an economic shock to the business ecosystem, a disaster in areas identified by the State of Georgia and/or the City of Atlanta.  This fund will focus on providing working capital to ensure the viability of city businesses and help sustain employment opportunities.

LOAN FEATURES 


Term of Loan - Maturity dates up to 3 years for inventory and working capital; 5 years for fixed assets; 7 years on leasehold improvements (loan terms shall not exceed the lease agreement terms).

Type of Loan Product - The Program will provide a direct loan to applicants or a participation loan if another funding source is involved. 

Loan Size - Minimum of $10,000; Maximum to be determined based on the applicant’s financial and ability to service the debt

Interest Rate - Interest rates shall be determined based upon an analysis of the applicant's cash flow. Rates range from 1% to Prime+ 2.

Type of Collateral - No collateral required, except in situations determined by Invest Atlanta’s small business and/or executive teams.

Personal Guarantee - No personal guarantee required, except if determined necessary by Invest Atlanta’s small business and/or executive teams.  In this case, personal guarantee will be required for all individuals who ow 20% or more interest in the business,

Corporate Guarantee - A corporate guarantee will be required in the form of property insurance naming Atlanta Development Authority as agent of the City of Atlanta as an additional insured and loss payee.

Other Provisions - Invest Atlanta reserves the right to request payment in full in the event the following occurs. The loan recipient: 

  • Relocates out of the City of Atlanta
  • Refuses to provide ongoing financial reporting
  • Misuses the funds  
  • Refuses to make monthly loan payments
